Bruiser has one of those wonderful expressive faces that will capture your heart the minute you look him in the eye. Then when you find that he has a gentle, easy going personality to go along with his handsome face, you will be in love. As delightful as this boy is, I can’t believe his owner gave him up but she said she was working too many hours and couldn’t take care of him anymore. He has been to our vet. His blood work was perfect, all his vaccines have been updated and he has been neutered. He was probably named Bruiser because of his big beautiful pug head and the way he prances like he is in a show ring, but he acts more like a “Cruiser” than a “Bruiser”. He just loves to hang with you whatever you are doing. He loves to go for leash walks and car rides too. He can be an only dog or in a herd, he does great with kids, cats, everyone. He is a very good boy that will fit in anywhere. Completely potty trained - no separation anxiety. He does need a new forever home that is not afraid of an occasional seizure because he appears to be a pug that is going to have one once in awhile. Since coming into rescue 2 months ago, there has only been one day where he had a seizure. Not a biggie, you just have to be calm and sit with him until it’s over (which is about 15 seconds). Then he’s up and running again. If you have ever had a dog that had occasional seizures, you know just what I mean. Bruiser is looking for a home where he can love and be loved. He is only 7 and he never wants to move again.

He is doing great but Bruiser has had several more seizures in the past month. He is seeing a regular Vet and an Alternative Vet. We are trying to control his seizures with Chinese herbs, acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments before putting him on Phenobarbital. He seems to be doing quite well now that he has been on this treatment course for a while but only time will tell. He is still the same sweet boy and he is still looking for a home where he can love and be loved. If you love Bruiser, but can’t adopt him, please consider donating and become his foster angel.
