If you need to surrender a pug, please e-mail us
at surrender@pugrescueofflorida.org
or call our surrender line at 727-432-3751
and leave us a message. Someone will get back to you within 24
hours of your request.
We take pugs of all ages and/or health. Once
you surrender your pug over to PROoF, we put him/her in to an
approved foster home where they will be loved and cared for as
if the pug were their own.
Once the pug has been checked out by our approved
vet, the foster parent(s) take the pug home with them and evaluate
him/her over a period of time to get to know the personality of
the dog. When we place a pug, we do reference checks, home visits,
and vet checks. Everything MUST be approved before a home is considered
for a pug.
We spay/neuter all of our pugs (if not already
done) before we adopt them out. They are updated on their vaccinations
and checked for heartworms. If surgery or dentals are needed,
we also take care of that before the pug is placed in their new
home.
If you find a stray, please call our surrender
line as PROoF does take in stray pugs.
Even though we all volunteer for PROoF, each
of us personally feel as though placing pugs is our "job". We
put our hearts and souls into helping these pugs that are in need.
It doesn't matter if they are housebroken or a they are an older
pug that was an owner surrender at a local shelter. They all deserve
our help and care and they all deserve to go to a loving family..

Think
it's not worth keeping a dog when a baby enters the family?
Pugs and children can become the best of friends and this video
shows it.
